What have you been up to since releasing Won’t Be Long EP?
For those that don’t know I’m a University student and I’ve been really busy with my studies and deadlines; in my spare time I’ve been working on new music and performing at different events.
You’ve recently become a resident MC for Asylum Events. How has the experience effected your creative process for music?
Hold tight to Asylum. I’ve always been a fan of DnB but I’ve never tried writing lyrics especially for it; whereas now I have the perfect opportunity to become more comfortable with the fast paced genre.
You’re best known for grime anthems but have been in your emo rap bag for a while too. What type of music direction can we expect from you in 2019?
My goal is to make every sound “my sound”, I don’t want to be limited to one genre, I wish to transcend any labels people ever tried putting on my music. I’ve been revisiting the music I was raised on back in Poland and drawing inspiration from it.
I feel like my next project will make people aware of how versatile I really am. I’ve never chased hits, I’ve never sat down with the intention to make a banger. I spend a lot of time making music that I want to hear or need to hear and it just so happens that it resonates with others.
When can we expect new music?
Music video for W.T.C coming soon, I am focusing on visuals for the meantime. I recorded guest verses for a couple people so those should be dropping soon.
For anyone who hasn’t seen Eyeconic live before, how would you describe your set?
Energetic? Intimate? I don’t really know how I would describe it. I perform more than just one type of music so the vibe is very diverse.
Are you planning on switching anything up for the slightly different format of the open mic night?
I’m going to use the open mic format to try out a few new things. I feel like it’s the perfect place to take risks and gauge people’s responses.
Is there anyone you’re particularly hoping turns up for the open mic on Friday?
There’s no one in particular that I’m hoping to see. I would like to see new faces and hear some new interesting sounds.
