Redcar rapper/multi-instrumentalist Dylan Cartlidge has been putting in the work for years to get to where he is now. From stints with other acts including Bi:Lingual and Chaos Jigsaw, Dylan has found his feet as a solo act.
The alternative hip-hop act blends influences from Kid Cudi to Jamie T, the latter of which he worked with for 2018 single Up & Upside Down. Despite paying homage to those he grew up listening to, its also evident Dylan is his own act. Distinctly unique in his creative output amassing fans nationwide and beyond.
After playing SXSW with BBC Music next month, the Redcar representative will be heading out on a headline full UK tour. With dates from Glasgow on March 21st to Sunderland on April 6th, I thoroughly recommend getting yourself acquainted with Dylan Cartlidge and catching him live too.
I was fortunate enough to see Dylan perform at Sage Gateshead last summer and he proved back then that the hype was real. I’ve jumped on the bandwagon since, falling in love with The World Outside in particular.
With such a big tour I’d expect, or at least hope, there’s an EP or something bigger on the way in 2019. Check out his latest music video for Wishing Well.
