Lewisham grime MC Yizzy has a bright future ahead of him. Ask anyone who hasn’t lived under a rock the last couple years, the just-turned-19-year-old is one of the most talented teenagers in music right now.
Following the release of his S.O.S EP, competing in the Red Bull 5-A-Side Grime clashes and ripping up radio sets, Yizzy has already cemented himself as a top-tier of the new-gen. The grime MC ended 2018 with big banger Hype Ting and then the more introspective inclined Keep Chasing. The latter of which Yizzy proudly self-directed the music video for.
Alongside UK Battle Rap legend Gemin1, Yizzy has been publicly campaigning for Jammer to book a 2-on-2 clash at Lord Of The Mics 8 with the pair. In terms of music, the Lewisham lyricist looks likely to light up 2019 even more than he did 2018.
Speaking to DJ Target on 1Xtra last night, Yizzy announced an eight-track EP expected for release this year. The MC exclusively revealed the extended play’s title, Welcome To Grime Street, while the BBC Radio broadcaster played new single Yeah as an Embargo world exclusive. The video for Yeah is expected Thursday before digital streaming platform release on Friday.
Yizzy also revealed to Target that he had pretty much everything ready for release this year already. With the young MC working so hard to prepare and keeping steps ahead of his competition, there’s no chance he can fail.
