#TipTuesday: Syer B

It might be time to retire grime. Its not dead, far from it. Its just been clocked. Syer B has completed it mate. From going back-to-back with Devlin on a collaborative EP to releasing a new extended play of his own which absolutely bangs.

Its not the aggressive grime anthems that have made me fast-forward Syer B’s placement on this weeks #TipTuesday though. Its because of a more introspective, emotionally resonant record I’ve had on repeat all weekend.

We all know Syer can go HAM on 140bpm with phenomenal punchlines and ferocious flows but I was caught a little off guard by Go Deep. A tribute to the cathartic calming powers of music, the cut is taken from early drop-of-the-year contender Fire x Frost.

The EP features Jammz on So Wait and Devlin on the closing track Madman Skills.

Whether its a radio set, Fire x Frost or Something In The Water, I thoroughly recommend you spend the rest of your week with Syer B in constant rotation.
