#TipTuesday: Shakk

Fun fact, I’ve already planned a long list of tips for every Tuesday of 2019. Shakk was definitely on the list but only a few hours before this post is going to be published, have I decided the Teesside MC deserves the spot this week. Its not a ranking system by any means but I will be moving things around for relevance-sake and Shakk’s actions just this past weekend alone puts him at the top of the pile.

Despite only returning from a lengthy hiatus around the mid-point of 2018, Shakk has been awarded Artist Of The Year by RIDE Music and their readership. Making a massive impact in a relatively short space of time, Shakk released an incredible EP, a few loosie freestyles and put on a number of phenomenal performances at live shows too in 2018.

He’d be forgiven for taking some time off in the first quarter of 2019, but apparently the foot is still firmly on the gas as Shakk drives into the new year at full speed. Shortly after being unveiled as RIDE Music’s Artist Of The Year, Shakk released a fantastic freestyle named after the coveted award.

Literally an hour later, another video dropped with Shakk opening up the Northern League Cypher. Teaming up with Endem, it looks like Shakk and the Legitimate Anarchy crew will be bringing us more cyphers in the not-too-distant future.

Alongside his popular Growth Over Comfort podcast, Shakk seems to be everywhere right now and we’re only eight days into 2019. You should keep your eyes and ears open for new music from the Teessider too. Speaking to us after headlining the Legacy Skate Store stage of Darlington’s Last Train Home festival, the rapper promised us some new releases this year – and we can’t wait to hear what he’s cooked up for us.
