Hoodie Allen’s The Hype Turns One Year Old

Hoodie Allen doesn’t get enough recognition in hip-hop circles. Even in comparison to his more accessible pop-rap cohorts like G-Eazy, Hoodie is barely mentioned by rap fans. Despite this, the rapper very clearly has a strong fan base with albums charting highly on the Billboard 200.

On this day in 2017, Hoodie Allen released his third studio album The Hype. The LP features Scott Hoying, Wale, State Champs and Goody Grace. Production is handled by the likes of Tyler Nicolo, Cook Classics and more.

Although previous albums and EPs have charted no lower than 38, The Hype charted at 166 in US Billboard 200.
