One of the greatest rappers of all time and a true trailblazer, KRS-One probably doesn’t get the credit he deserves. When it comes to the G.O.A.T conversation we often exclude artists predating the 90’s, and KRS is arguably the biggest oversight of that.
On this day in 1993 KRS-One released his first solo studio album Return Of The Boom Bap. The album features some self-produced cuts but also some of the DJ Premier’s early work alongside Showbiz and Kid Capri. The latter also features vocally on the album, as does Ill Will.
Return Of The Boom Bap charted at number 37 on the US Billboard 200.
