Canibus’ career can be described as turbulent at best. Even though beefs are part and parcel with hip-hop culture, the West Coast rapper has been involved in a number of high profile feuds over the years and since the infamous Dizaster battle his legacy has been tainted.
On this day in 1998, Canibus released the sort-of-eponymous Can-I-Bus album. The album was received with mixed reviews at the time largely put down to Wyclef Jean’s production but the rapper was still held in high regard as a lyricist with this album.
Clark Kent also features on the production credits while Free and Pras are among the guest features on Can-I-Bus. The album is also home to the iconic LL Cool J diss Second Round K.O. After the tracks successful chart performance, the album also peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard 200.
