Gig Guide: St. Buryan, Bible Of Beatz & Fungi Ferg

“Nothing ever happens in Newcastle” cry many Geordie muso’s. When in fact, the opposite can be said about the entire North East of England. There’s always something going on – you just need to know where to look. Fortunately, TheRootMusic knows where to look for the best gigs going down around Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and the surrounding areas. Here’s a guide to the most appealing gigs this week:

St. Buryan @ Little Buildings (Friday 5th January 2018)
Following a brief hiatus, St. Buryan’s return to the local music scene has turned them into one of the most exciting bands as we head into 2018. With a string of single releases attaining critical acclaim within local journalists and some spotlight on the national stage, the indie-pop outfit are building a loyal following. The band based across Newcastle and Sunderland are kicking off 2018, how they left off in 2017 with yet another exciting gig in one of Newcastle’s best intimate venues.

Bible Of Beatz @ Music Lounge (Friday 5th January)
Whilst there’s not a great deal of gigs announced for 2018 yet, Teesside is leading the charge right out the gate. With the return of TGF’s Sound Of The Tees events alongside new monthly gigs from Bible Of Beatz at Music Lounge. Kicking off early in 2018, Bible Of Beatz will be joined by veteran Fungi Ferg in addition to newcomer Chris Sayer who has already built a buzz around him having consistently seen his music go viral on Facebook.
