Pass The Aux 005: The Green Ranger

Throughout August 2017, TheRootMusic is celebrating hip-hop and grime scene in the North East of England as part of ‘Local Music Month.’ As part of this we have contacted a range of artists, DJs, and other behind-the-scenes individuals to ‘Pass The Aux’ and express some of their personal favourite music releases.

For your fifth Pass The Aux, The Green Ranger has stepped up to spotlight twelve tracks. A behind-the-scenes figure within North East hip-hop, The Green Ranger is the fourth member of Gang:Greenz and can often be found behind a camera. Whether that’s photographing gigs or most recently filming freestyles alongside Naughty40 for their new Higher Dosage Media. In his Pass The Aux, The Green Ranger focuses a lot on those he’s worked with but its hard to argue that they don’t deserve such recognition.

Jister & The Lion Ranger ft. Smoggy – Babbington

The first local hip-hop track I heard.
This is the track I would introduce new people to for North East hip-hop.
Naughty40 ft. Just B – LimitlessThis is the track I would introduce new people to for North East grime.

Naughty40 – Freedom Freestyle
My all time favourite track.

Naughty40 ft. Sutherland & 90BRO – Deep Shadows
Stand out track from my favourite album right now, ‘Chicken Shops & Tequila Shots.’ Its got some good content and a banging beat.

Fungi & Naughty40 – Supersonic
This is the track I would use to get people hyped.
Naughty40 ft. Reali-T, 90BRO & Raza – The Conversation
This is the track I would play just for a chill out.

The best local artist in terms of entertainment on stage is Blitz. His stage presence is pretty undeniable as well as his talent.
